Rules and Regulations

You may check in after 1 PM on the day of your scheduled arrival. We can not accommodate early arrivals. If you arrive prior to 1 PM, the Front Desk and Hosts at the Gatehouse are happy to suggest things to do in the area. Our Check-Out time is 11 AM. We do not refund for early departures or adverse weather.

To enjoy the day with you, each day visitor will need to purchase a Day Pass at the Front Desk and must leave the park by 9 pm. The maximum occupancy of as site is 6 people, including day visitors.

Your deposit is refundable if you cancel your reservation 7 days in advance of the arrival date. If you cancel within the 7 day window of your arrival, you will forfeit a one-night deposit. The one-time Reservation Fee of $3.50 and the one-time Group fee of $25.00 are non-refundable. Any changes to your reservation dates are subject to availability and can result in a rate increase.

We allow one camper unit, two vehicles, and one golf cart or ORV per campsite. The two vehicles allowed per campsite are for registered overnight guests only and may not be used by day visitors. You will receive a car pass to display in the windshield of your registered vehicles. Sleeping in a passenger vehicle is not permitted. We cannot support charging of electric vehicles on the campsite.

Overflow parking for non-camper trailers, boats, and extra vehicles are available upon request for a fee. Please do not park on vacant sites or encroach on the roadway. The Office Parking Lot and the Beach Parking Lot are for the use of the amenities.

All of our sites are full hook-up sites and require a donut gasket and/or a 90-angle for sewer hookups.

We have several dumpsters located throughout the park for disposal of your rubbish. We allow clotheslines if they are fully attached to your RV. We can not support charging of electric vehicles on the campsite. Please be respectful of your neighbors and do not cut through campsites.

If you invite a guest to visit you in the park, they must check in at the office and pay the appropriate day/overnight fees.

Day Guests must check in at the Office and purchase a Day Pass before entering the park. Day Passes are sold per person. Please advise your visitors of the fee in advance. Day Guests may enjoy the day with you but must leave the park by 9 PM.

Anyone staying overnight must be added to your reservation. Please contact the Office in advance to add an Overnight Guest and pay the applicable fee.

There is a maximum occupancy of six people per site, including day guests.

The speed limit though the park is 10 mph. 

​We do our best to ensure a safe and secure environment during your stay.

Please be a good neighbor and adhere to the quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM. Loitering in the park is not allowed after 11 PM. We are not responsible for loss, theft, vandalism, accidents or injuries resulting in or around the park. Please secure your own valuables. Guests who cause damage or injuries are responsible for their actions. Alcohol may be consumed responsibly at your campsite only. Weapons and fireworks are not allowed in the park.

We hope you enjoy a nice campfire while you visit us, but please be aware that ground fires are not permitted within the park. You may bring an enclosed off the ground fire pit. 

Beach Fire Permits are available at the Front Desk.

To wash vehicles, RVs, and boats, please stop by the Gatehouse to obtain a permit and pay the appropriate fee.

On-site swimming pools are not allowed. Flags of any kind that indicate profanity are not allowed.

We are a pet-friendly park and want your pets to enjoy their stay as well! We do ask that you keep your pet on a leash and pick up after them. For your convenience, clean up stations are available across the park. We hope your pet will visit the Bark Park located near the playground area. The Bark Park is open from dawn to dusk. We do not allow pets in the buildings, pool areas, tennis courts, bathhouses, or rental units. Pets may not be left unattended in the park or at your campsite. Before you bring your pet, make sure they have an up-to-date rabies vaccination record on hand. As the owner, you will be responsible for any damages or injuries to other pets, customers, and campground property.

We share the road in our park with motor vehicles, bicycles, golf carts and pedestrians.  The speed limit throughout the park is 10 mph. We ask that you follow the rules of the road. We allow only licensed drivers to operate motor vehicles and golf carts in the park. We require registration of your golf cart or any other unlicensed vehicle upon arrival to the park. ​We like to see you after dark, make sure you have working headlight(s) on your motor vehicle or golf cart and an appropriate light on your bicycle.

​We allow two vehicles per campsite for overnight guests only. Day visitors need to purchase Day Passes to enjoy the day with you but must leave the park by 9 pm. Each site has a maximum occupancy of 6 people, including day visitors .

We can not support charging of electric vehicles on our campsites. There are multiple public charging stations located a short walk from us.​

Our swimming pools are a great way to relax while you are on vacation and we hope you enjoy our pools! Please note that we do not have a lifeguard on duty. Swimming is at your own risk.

Children under age 14 must be attended by an adult. North Carolina Health Department regulations do not allow children under 12 in our hot tub. Non-toilet trained children are allowed in the kiddie pool only and must wear swim diapers. If there is an accident in our pools, we must close them for 24 hours. If you have a communicable disease, eye, ear or nasal infection, please do not enter the pool areas.

We do not allow glass containers, alcohol or smoking in any of our pool areas.

​Camp Hatteras is a privately owned, family campground. Our rules and regulations are for the consideration of all of our guests. Disorderly conduct of any kind is a violation of the guest guidelines and may result in removal from the park without a refund. We reserve the right to implement additional rules as deemed necessary.
